Horror Icons

Red Death, London After Midnight, Bride of Frankinstein, and Dracula. Classics and great movies. The scan didn't capture all of the subtlety, but it looks descent.

One of my favorite movies....

I like both verisons of Dune. Some of the most inspirational visuals of any movie from my childhood. Quick sketch in PS about 45 minutes. Enjoy!!

nuther speed paint

Here is another one... about 40- 50 minutes on this one. These are fun, it is very hard for me to paint so loose. Not really doing these for anything but to do them and get a little practice in. I have a couple more of these I may get around to posting but they are nothing special. Besides someone has more important stuff to post.....

speed sketch

Is it a Goblin, or a Troll? Is it something a Troll ate then crapped out? Wahtever it is, it took me just shy of an hour to finish from scratch. Getting faster, hopefully getting better too!

...and part two of the tanks

Still not where I want it to be, but I feel like I am improving. Definatly getting faster at this. I switched up the original design because it was pointed out to me that standing on the back of a giant frog would be hazardous to one's health. Well, this isn't much better since the frog would have trouble jumping with tons of steel on it's back but....

Ymir Progressions...

Here are two "revisions" of Ymir. The top one was more of the typical frost giant compossed of ice. But since I am putting some time in this I am going to go with a more fleshy version. I included a traditional viking attire but kept the ice swords. Next stage is color then weapons then stage design. I already got the weapons and stage sketched out so look for these by the 17th as stated before.

Norse Gods, Heros, and Hotties

From top to bottom: Ymir (frost giant) Eisa (Loki's daughter, name means Embers) Einmyra (Loki's daughter, name means Ashes) Tyr (God of War) Beowulf (Norse Hero). Just some sketches for a group project. The idea is to eventually evolve one of these concepts into a finished digital painting complete with weapon designs and an enviroment. I am having fun with these and I may just try to complete all of them to that stage. I also have a couple more Norse Deities that I want to try out. I am shooting for the end of the week (17th) to have one of these that far along.

Two Part Post...

Some quick sketch tank concepts. I think I may try to polish at least the frog at a later date but for now I am calling these finished sketches.

Just trying to get used to using a brush and nib again. It has been a while but I have a couple of pieces in mind that I want to do in ink.

Lava Field quick sketch

I watched a tutorial. Got excited about painting a volcano. Set down and this was birthed. Not what I hoped it would be, but I am fairly happy with what I got for the time I spent.
